An Uplifting Evening at the Royal Foundation’s Together at Christmas Carol Service

Tonight, Johnathan and Gordon of Lamlash House had the honour of attending the Together at Christmas Carol Service at the historic Paisley Abbey, by gracious invitation of the Lord-Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran, Sheriff Iona McDonald. It was a moment of meaningful connection and festive spirit that truly captured the heart of this season.

The event, part of an annual tradition inspired and supported by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales and The Royal Foundation, brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate kindness, community and the joy of giving.

A Message of Generosity and Hope

In our programme was a letter from Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, whose thoughtful words gave all present pause for reflection:

“At a time when life can sometimes feel fragmented or uncertain, the Christmas season invites us to remember the power of reaching out to one another with generosity of heart, understanding and hope.”

These words resonated deeply during the service, urging guests to consider how compassion and empathy strengthen the fabric of our communities. The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm, inclusive and uplifting — a reminder of what this time of year can represent.

What Together at Christmas Celebrates

The Together at Christmas Carol Service is more than a musical evening — it is a celebration of community, service and connection. Each year, the Princess of Wales selects guests from across the United Kingdom who have shown exceptional dedication to their communities — whether through volunteering, charity work, or simply offering their time and kindness to others.

A Night to Remember

Attending the Paisley Abbey Carol Service was both memorable and deeply inspiring for us. It reminded us of the impact individuals can make when they act with generosity of heart, and how moments of shared compassion can bring light during the festive season.

As we continue into this special time of year, we’ll carry the spirit of Together at Christmas with us — cherishing community, celebrating kindness, and holding hope at the centre of all we do.

Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful festive season.
